Integrating PDFparse REST API into a Python Automation Workflow (planned, not yet available)
PDFparse's public API, SDKs and webhooks are planned and not available yet; the examples below are previews of the intended design. Write a 15-line Python script to watch an incoming folder, automatically upload files to PDFparse, and stream structured JSON into your database.
Automate backend document ingestion without building custom OCR infrastructure, GPU clusters, or ML training pipelines.
Step-by-Step Walkthrough
Obtain Your Bearer Token
Go to your User Dashboard and generate an API key with appropriate read/write scopes. Your Free plan includes 5 monthly credits to test.
Install the Requests / SDK Client
Run pip install requests in your terminal or virtual environment.
pip install requestsExecute the Processing Call
Send a POST request with the file stream and desired tool or agent identifier.
import requests
API_KEY = "sk_live_your_api_key_here"
file_path = "invoice_sample.pdf"
with open(file_path, "rb") as f:
response = requests.post(
"https://api.pdfparse.dev/v1/agents/invoice-auditor/run",
headers={"Authorization": f"Bearer {API_KEY}"},
files={"file": f}
)
data = response.json()
print("Audit Total:", data["auditSummary"]["calculatedGrandTotal"])Handle Asynchronous Webhook Callbacks
For long multi-hundred page documents, pass a webhookUrl parameter to receive the finalized JSON payload asynchronously upon completion.
A fully autonomous end-to-end Python script processing incoming PDFs into validated JSON records.
